So we had to constantly "refill" ourselves with water to prevent heat stroke. And this was one of the cafes we visited. The cafe...had a nice and cosy ambience, very homely feeling with the orange lightings and nice layout. And one can really relax and enjoy the drinks. We ordered 3 beverages apologize that I could not remember their names and exact prices. The Vietnamese dripping black coffee, lychee fruit juice and pineapple juice. And must say, the beverages were superb! The coffee was flavourful with nice aroma; and the other 2 drinks were icy and refreshing and great to have on such warm day! Service was good too as staff were friendly and polite and able to communicate in English. I was keen to find somewhere for coffee and a light lunch. This place was pleasingly busy and full of locals. I feel I should go to far more Vietnamese coffee places before committing to any kind of...comparator - but the iced special coffee was very good. I was tempted by the 170k legend coffee but it seemed too much of an extravagance. There is also a limited food menu, and I ate a very tasty vegetable noodle dish which I could contentedly eat for lunch for the rest of the year. The smell coming out the door was too...hard to ignore, so we entered and found the fresh coffee sales on the bottom floor and on asking for the cafe we were directed up the staircase to a little cafe on the second and third floors. We ordered our coffees as we knew exactly what we wanted and long after that they came out with some really nice well presented, great tasting cappuccino, a latte, a nice ice chocolate and an iced coffee for my son and daughter. They really know how to make great drink, coffees were perfectly balanced, temperature was just right and flavour intense and fresh and of course much cheaper than you would pay back home in Australia. After a stomach episode following egg coffee from a different coffee shop I've tried to keep it a little less adventurous on this trip so it's been filled with a lot of legend Cafe. Choices range from 1-8 which I've been told conflicting stories with either the higher being stronger or better quality. I'm going with the quality though I've had most levels and they have all been good. There is also a special weasel coffee hat is about 3x as much money as a normal ca Phe Phin drip coffee 170K Dong, or about $ USD that is really good. Not sure you will taste a huge difference if you aren't a big coffee drinker but still worth it to try at least once. Staff is friendly and most speak enough English that you will be fine of your tieng Viet is not too strong.
